Club GLO was a winter break camp on the GO! The children had such an amazing time on their daily adventures. We went to Mission Dolores Park and had a ball at the playground, then ice skating at Yerba Buena center the next day. On Wednesday the kids stayed on site and decorated ginger bread houses (made out of graham crackers), created fuse beads art, had a “rat chat” with some volunteers from the SPCA, made snow flakes and other activities. Thursday we ventured to the Metreon to watch the movie “Sing” in 3D. They really enjoyed that and the movie was hilarious. Friday our plans to go to the San Francisco Zoo were foiled by the rain so we stayed on site and did a few more hands on activities which included making lanterns, decorating snow men, more fuse beads and a movie in the afternoon. That was just week one!
The following week we explored Golden Gate Park and the arboretum, went rock climbing at Mission Cliffs and bowling at Yerba Buena Center. We ended our week with an on-site New Year’s Eve party which included face painting, a noon countdown, sparkling apple cider, a dance party and talent show and an afternoon of crafts for the kids.
All in all Winter Break camp was a blast. We had such and wonderful time with kids from across of all our GLO sites. We are looking forward to our upcoming Club GLO this Spring Semester. If you need any information you can contact Margarita Spataro at firstname.lastname@example.org.
P.S. The trip to the San Francisco Zoo has been rescheduled for Friday, January 27th Club GLO on Lunar New Year. You can download the registration form here: Spring 2017 Club GLO Registration Form.
