Meet the Staff of GLO @ Chinese Immersion School De Avila

As the Site Coordinator, Shirley uses her skills and experience to  orchestrate the after school program at CIS. She has worked at GLO @ Dianne Feinstein Elementary School for two years where she moved up from being teacher to an adminstrative teacher after her first year. With her GLO knowledge and experience, she works to support the CIS community with programming, enrichment, and much more. InIMG_4483 2013, Shirley graduated with a B.A. in English Literature with an emphasis in Literature and the Mind from UC Santa Barbara. However, don’t let her literature degree fool you since she also has an extensive background in Biology as she previously has worked as a Laboratory Assistant at UCSF. Shirley gained her love for working with children when she tutored kids of all ages from Pre-K to high school in the three R’s, reading, writing, and arithmetic. In her spare time she likes to bake, read, and spend time with her six guinea pigs!

Senior Administrative Teacher: Diane Kikuchi | 415-701-9800 |

Diane is the newest member to the CIS administrative team and take on the role of Senior Administrative Teacher. She spends her time with the 5th grade class and assists with planning the day to day activities so that program can run as smooth as possible.  Diane holds a Master Degree from Golden Gate University in Public Administration and Degree in Psychology from the University of California in Merced.  In her spare time you can find Diane taking intense hikes, running marathons, snowboarding, kayaking, and rock climbing. She loves traveling and exploring countries. Diane is proud of the work she did before coming to GLO which was working with Autistic clients as a behavioral interventionist.
