Meet the Leadership Staff of GLO @ West Portal Elementary

Raquel comes to GLO at West Portal from our Dianne Feinstein site where she has worked for the last 5 years. She brings her knowledge and experience of GLO to make West Portal, Best Portal! She enjoys teaching. Before coming to GLO, Raquel was a full time student at San Francisco State University. Raquel holds a Bachelor’s degree in adolescent development. In her spare time she likes to draw, relax, and spend time with her family and friends. Raquel’s greatest accomplishment and joy was the birth of her daughter in December of 2014.

Senior Administrative Teacher: Colzie Tucker | 415.242.8641

Colzie started this year as an Administrative Assistant at the GLO Admin office and just recently has been promoted to Senior Administrative Teacher for GLO @ West Portal. Colzie’s nonprofit work began at the age of 14 working as a Track Coach on his father’s track team, “The Monterey Bay Jaguars”.  He then went on to work for the city of Monterey and Seaside in Parks and Recreation.  Colzie attended San Francisco State to earn his BA from the College of Ethnic Studies.  After college he started to work where his passion lies in guiding youth with mixed heritage backgrounds and trans racially adopted children at “Camp Fusion” in Oakland.  After the program ended he began working as a full time makeup artist managing and event coordinating for Sephora and YSL.  Yearning to make a difference in the world he researched places he could fulfill his dream of being a real life super hero and help people on a greater level.  He found GLO and has never been more proud of the work he does safeguarding the lives of the children and families of San Francisco.

Administrative Teacher: Kathleen Simpson | 415.242.8641

Kathleen Simpson is the Administrative Teacher for our program at West Portal and oversees the AM program at in the morning, assists with administrative duties and is a teacher in the afternoon. She currently attends the University of San Francisco and is working towards her BA in Communications with a Minor in Psychology. Before working for GLO she was a full time student and a part time pharmacy technician. In her spare time Kathleen enjoys walking with her two dogs, spending time with family and and watching movies and TV shows.
