    Week 1

    Digital Photography I

    June 14 - June 18

    Say cheese! This week you will be all smiles as you get to use modern technology to make art! This week you will get the chance to mix the science and technology of digital photography and the old fashioned craft of scrap booking. Here you will learn different techniques using a digital camera including: taking, cropping, and printing photos. Once photos are printed and ready to go you will have the opportunity to create your very own scrapbook using mixed media. By the end of the week you will get to share them with friends and family during a brief showcase.

    Week 2

    Digital Photography II

    June 21 - June 25

    This week you will continue to learn all about digital scrapbooking. It will be a more in depth experience with photo-editing and the fine art of photography This week you will get the chance to mix the science and technology of digital photography and the old fashioned craft of scrap booking. Here you will continue learning different techniques using a digital camera including: taking, cropping, and printing photos. Here you will fine-tune projects to create a professional looking product. By the end of the week you will get to share them with friends and family during a brief showcase.

    Week 3

    International Cooking

    June 28 - July 2

    Bring your appetite and creative culinary skills as you travel to different worldly destinations through your taste buds! This week you will prepare healthful and organic meals of global proportions. You will learn how to turn your favorite ethnic foods into healthful meals and snacks the whole family can enjoy. This week you will find that food may taste good and be good for you whether it is tacos, sushi, or fried rice! So bring your appetite and an open mind to discover what is nutritious and delicious.

    Week 4

    Summer Olympics

    July 6 - July 9 (Closed on July 5th)

    Every four years the world gets to watch its greatest athletes compete in the Summer Olympics, but why should we have to wait that long? So let’s get into the spirit of competition and have our own GLO summer Olympics. This week the fourth, fifth, and sixth graders will get to compete for fun in a host of track and field events as well as team sports including basketball, badminton, soccer and baseball. Learn about some of the famous athletes, the sports that are played and how the Olympic games have changed from the first event in Athens to the present day. Go for the gold!

    Week 5

    The Magic Show

    July 12 - July 16

    The trick to magic is learning the secrets behind them. So, come be an expert and amaze and impress your friends! This week you will be taught lots of easy-to-learn tricks with playing cards, paper clips, dollar bills, ropes, and much more! This unique and exciting abracadabra class is perfect for kids who enjoy the concept of magic or enjoy performing magic tricks for friends and family. Children will learn the art of great magic, secrets, and how to stage and perform them. The week concludes with a short magic show.

    Week 6

    Sportspalooza

    July 19 - July 23

    Let’s play ball! Here the name of the game is… the game! This week you will participate in traditional sports such as baseball and soccer as well as fun and wacky sports like dodge ball and water balloon tosses. This week will be about fun competition and recreation. Time to catch it, run it, throw it, hit it, dunk it, roll it, spike it, and play until the sun goes down! You don’t have to be an experienced athlete to participate this week just the ability to try and have fun!
