    Week 1

    Misteries, Maps ...

    June 14-June 18

    Let’s go detectives, all kinds of mysteries are happening at camp this week and it is your job to solve them! Each day a mystery item will be removed from the room ; can you guess what it is? Every day the campers will investigate what it takes to be a real detective. They will practice by following maps, answering riddles, and solving puzzles. Some of our highlights this week will be a scavenger hunt and solving a serious “Who done it ?” mystery.

    Week 2

    GPS Treasure Hunt

    June 21-June 25

    This modern-day, high-tech treasure hunting game uses GPS units to help find caches hidden across the world by fellow game players. Children will embark on daily treasure hunts around campus and the neighborhood using the GPS units provided. They will also get the opportunity to hide caches around the campus and make their own maps to find them. Other topics include topographic map reading, compass use, creating a cache, hiding a cache, finding a cache, and more. This week will give you the chance to compare traditional maps to modern GPS devices.

    Wek 3

    Archaeology

    June 28-July 2

    We will have a make believe dig where we will unravel the mysteries and explore pyramids, ancient civilizations, and dinosaurs. Here we will discover and have a chance to piece together the histories of people and creatures before our time. Your child will also travel through time, as we build and dig our own simulated site, learning about history through fossils, bones, pottery, glass and stone. Not only will you learn about ancient history and discover tools of the past, you will become familiar with basic archaeological digging techniques and learn about the world that came before you.

    Week 4

    Art Safari

    July 6-July 9 (Closed on July 5th)

    Art is defined and created in many different ways across the world. But here we will specifically discover the art of Africa. This week you will discover that being an artist in Africa can be a grand adventure. Here you will study the many different African pieces from woodworking to bead making. As you explore creativity through theses cultural crafts, you will discover why they use diverse materials and get a chance to use them too! By the end of the week you will be able to showcase your art by creating your very own art gallery. You will also be able to describe artistic pieces from a myriad of African cultures.

    Week 5

    Asia Adventure

    July 12 - July 16

    Let’s journey to China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and other destinations. In each country we will survey the art, music, dance, and food that represent them. Each day we will study one or two Asian cultures and explore rich aspects of their history. It is through this we will discover the true diversity and beauty of Asia. We will listen to samples of music, share stories, and taste foods from many cultures. By the end of the week children will be able to present many of their discoveries from Asia.

    Week 6

    GLO's Got Talent

    July 19 - July 23

    Do you have dreams of fame and fortune? Wish you could be a Broadway star, a comedian, a dancer, a pop star, an actor, a model? Well this week in camp you will have the chance to practice, perform, and showcase your talents, whatever they may be! Here you will get to dance to your favorite pop songs, write scripts, and perform in front of your peers. In this fun fantasy week of camp, your wishes will come true as you spend a week living the life of super stardom! Let’s roll out the red carpet…
